Loyalty Apps are a great way to make your customers feel valued and keep them coming back. We’ve compiled some of our tips to help you maximise your loyalty app engagement.
It goes without saying that customer retention is important, just take a look at some of these statistics;
A loyalty app is a perfect way to deliver great CX and support your retention strategy by offering convenient access to offers, helping you stay front of mind and keeping your customers engaged. With this in mind we have compiled our tips on how to get the most out of your loyalty app.
Ways to Maximize Your Loyalty App Engagement
1. Make Onboarding easy
With one in four mobile apps abandoned after the first launch, the simplicity of your onboarding process can make or break your app’s engagement. Make it short and simple for your customers to sign up by avoiding long forms with numerous data fields. Just ask for the basics; username, password, mobile number and email address.
2. Include a Virtual Reward card
The most popular feature for a loyalty app is a scannable virtual reward card which makes it so much easier for customers at the till. We often forget our plastic but never our phones or smartwatch!
3. Use Push Notifications
Push notifications are a great way to engage with your users and keep them informed on your latest special offers. Apps with push notifications result in 88% higher app engagement (Localytics)
4. Make it Multichannel
Most CRM platforms can be integrated with your loyalty app so your communications can be managed centrally. Why stop at Push Notification when you can also use SMS and email? With 98% of SMS’s being read it gives great cut-through (check our our SMStips here).
5. Use vouchers
Time-limited vouchers and VIP offers can be made available to redeem from within your app with built-in notifications and reminders when they are going to expire. This is a great way to further enhance your customer experience and bring further value to the app. Check out the video below of the vouchering app we built for Elevator Promotions and Tennents NI which was a great success both in terms of redemption rates and customer feedback.
6. Showcase your products
While your app doesn’t need to replicate your ecommerce site in terms of shopping experience, you can showcase products in a more curated way. The Arnotts Countdown to Christmas app successfully combined their Christmas catalogue with daily in-store giveaways and prizes. The engagement with the app was very high, online sales were boosted, and the campaign created a lot of buzz with queues outside the door nearly every morning during the festive season.
7. Make it easy to engage with Customer Support
With 70% of consumers saying they choose to support companies that deliver great customer service, giving your customer the opportunity to contact you via in-app web chat makes for very positive engagement.
